Flux Trapping and Magnetic Imaging

The two pictures show experimental magnetic field image data. The data has been overlaid with the outline of the circuit; a Modified Variable Threshold Logic (MVTL) 2OR- AND gate with small holes cut around the outside. Each image is 400 x 400 microns square. The magnetic field data is color coded from red (0 mG) to blue (approx. 400 mG). The blue dots are the flux quanta. (a) Was cooled in a field of 2.2 mG, whereas (b) was cooled in a 4 mG ambient field; in (b) flux quanta are clearly seen inside the circuit.
