Images of the field surrounding part of an MVTL divide-by-eight circuit with schematic overlays. All moats are 2 microns wide and each image is 500 x 500 microns square. Note that the larger continuous moats trap flux protecting the whole circuit. The 4 mG field value defines the minimum dc shielding necessary so that flux trapping is eliminated in the superconducting electronic circuits
